DESCRIPTION
I break a wall using a hammer until I’m exhausted and can’t raise my arms anymore. I grab all the fragments of the floor to build a new, semi-closed, round space with cement. I stay in there for hours.

CONCEPTUAL
The unsafe and hostile circumstances in which I grew up lead to an urgency for survival and created many questions about the meaning of a safe space, both external and internal. During this action I built a large matrix that only protected me partially, giving a sense of false safety and peace while continuing to be an insecure space. I never knew anything else so I replicated what was my notion of a home: coldness, exposure, fragility.

Matriz

DESCRIPCIÓN
Rompo con un martillo la pared hasta que quedo agotada y no puedo levantar más los brazos. Luego agarro todos los fragmentos del piso para construir con cemento un nuevo espacio semi-cerrado, redondo, para permanecer allí por horas.

CONCEPTUAL
Las circunstancias de desprotección y hostilidad en las que crecí produjeron en mí una urgencia por sobrevivir así como grandes cuestionamientos en torno al significado de los espacios de protección, tanto externos como internos. Durante esta acción construí una gran matriz que sólo me protegía parcialmente, otorgando una sensación de falso cuidado y tranquilidad mientras continuaba siendo un medio inseguro. Al no conocer otra realidad repliqué lo que hasta ese momento era mi noción de hogar: frialdad, exposición, fragilidad.
