This series of photo-performances, inspired by classical painting archetypes and the reinterpretation of the Madonna figure, documents my process of self-repair through multiple surgical interventions aimed at manipulating my body, erasing inherited scars, and dissolving the traces of abuse. The images, printed on glass and displayed away from the wall, create a duplication effect that highlights the fragility and transformation of the flesh, emphasizing the unpredictable nature of changes in the body. The work reflects the tension between physical transformation and emotional reconstruction, offering a reflection on the power of the body as a territory of resistance and self-repair.
Esta serie de fotoperformances, inspirada en los arquetipos clásicos de la pintura y en la reinterpretación de la figura de la Madonna, documenta mi proceso de autorreparación tras múltiples intervenciones quirúrgicas, con el fin de manipular mi cuerpo, borrar las cicatrices heredadas y disolver las huellas del abuso. Las imágenes, impresas en vidrio y separadas de la pared, crean un efecto de duplicación que resalta la fragilidad y transformación de la carne, enfatizando la naturaleza impredecible de los cambios en el cuerpo. La obra refleja la tensión entre la transformación física y la reconstrucción emocional, ofreciendo una reflexión sobre el poder del cuerpo como territorio de resistencia y autoreparación.
